Leo Lazarus has 28+ years of experience as a chief operating officer, financial analyst, pricing analyst, transportation consultant and adjunct professor of business.
Leo is currently the Chief Operating Officer of regional truckload carrier Armstrong Transportation based in Memphis, TN. Leo got his start in the truckload transportation field in 1995 with Memphis-based M.S. Carriers, a 5,000+ truck carrier acquired by Swift Transportation in 2001, primarily as a senior pricing analyst for both dedicated and one-way transportation. Leo was highly involved with the most sophisticated and complex shipper distribution networks including Sears, FedEx, The Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Anheuser-Busch and many others. Leo left Swift in early 2002 to start an independent consulting practice.
From 2002 to 2013, Leo served as an independent consultant in the truckload transportation field, serving the truckload analysis and pricing needs of major shippers and carriers of all sizes. His client list included several Fortune 100 shippers and over 40 truckload carriers including his current employer, Armstrong Transportation from 2005 to 2013.
As a part-time college instructor, Leo taught courses including Operations Management, Corporate Finance, Managerial Accounting, Business Statistics, Management, Marketing and Economics.
Leo holds an M.B.A. from The University of Mississippi and a B.B.A. in Management, also from The University of Mississippi.
